Child safety standards
Muslim Hearts is a marriage app for adults. We do not allow child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind, and we act on it wherever we find it.
Adults only
You must be 18 or over to use Muslim Hearts. Everyone gives their date of birth when they sign up, and the app does not let anyone under 18 create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it.
Zero tolerance
Any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child is forbidden. This includes sharing child sexual abuse material, grooming, and contacting or soliciting a minor. Accounts involved are removed and banned from Muslim Hearts.
Report and block
Every profile and every chat has Report and Block options. Choose Report to tell us about anything that worries you; the member is never told who reported them. Choose Block to stop someone contacting you.
How we review reports
Reports go to the Muslim Hearts team, who review them and take action, which can include removing content and banning accounts. Reports that involve a child are treated as the highest priority.
Reporting to the authorities
Where we become aware of child sexual abuse material or a child at risk, we report it to the relevant authorities as required by law. This includes the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and law enforcement.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police straight away. In the UK, call 999.
Compliance with the law
We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us and cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
Child safety contact
Our point of contact for child safety is the Muslim Hearts team at info@muslimhearts.co.uk. Use it to raise a concern or to reach us about our child safety practices.
